# Okendo

Connect Okendo so Alhena can answer shopper questions with your real product reviews and customer Q\&A — pulled in automatically and kept fresh on every product crawl.

## Prerequisites

* An Okendo account with Reviews enabled
* Your Okendo **User ID** (instructions below)

## Getting Your User ID

Alhena needs your Okendo **User ID** — the public identifier your storefront already uses to display your reviews. It's sometimes called the **subscriber ID**, and it looks like a long string such as `ac20e360-32b7-413e-913c-78f3315140ab`. There are two ways to find it.

### Option 1: From the Okendo admin

1. Log in to your **Okendo admin**
2. Go to **Settings → Integrations → Okendo**
3. Copy the **User ID**

### Option 2: From your storefront

If you don't have admin access, the User ID is already embedded in your live storefront:

1. Open any product page on your store
2. View the page source (right-click → **View Page Source**) and search for `oke:subscriber_id`
3. Copy the value next to it — the long string described above

{% hint style="info" %}
The User ID is a public, read-only identifier — it's already visible in your storefront and is only used to read reviews and Q\&A. It can't post, edit, or delete reviews, so it's safe to share with Alhena.
{% endhint %}

## Setup

### Step 1: Enable Okendo in Alhena

1. In Alhena, go to **Settings > Integrations**
2. Find **Okendo** and click **Enable**
3. You'll be taken to the Okendo settings page

### Step 2: Connect Your Account

1. Paste your **Okendo User ID** into the field
2. Click **Connect**

Alhena verifies the User ID with Okendo before saving it. If the ID is wrong or unrecognized, you'll see an error explaining what to fix.

## Enabled Agents and Capabilities

Connecting Okendo adds product-review awareness to your **Product Expert Agent**.

| Capability                 | Description                                                                                                                                                 |
| -------------------------- | ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| **Product Reviews & Q\&A** | The Product Expert Agent reads your Okendo reviews and customer Q\&A for each product and uses them to answer shopper questions with real customer feedback |

This capability is **on by default** as soon as you connect — no extra toggles to flip. You can turn it off or configure the Product Expert Agent any time from the **Connected Agents** section of the Okendo settings page, or under **AI Settings > Agents**.

{% hint style="info" %}
Reviews and Q\&A refresh automatically on every product crawl — there's no manual sync to run. Newly added reviews show up after the next training run.
{% endhint %}

## What your customers can ask

Once connected, your AI assistant can answer review-driven product questions like:

### About what reviewers think

* "What do customers say about this dress?"
* "Does this run true to size?"
* "How do people rate the quality?"
* "Is the color as shown in the photos?"
* "Has anyone mentioned how it washes?"

### Ratings and concerns

* "What's the average rating for this product?"
* "Are there any complaints about the fit?"
* "What do the negative reviews say?"

### Customer Q\&A

* "Did anyone ask whether this is true to size?"
* "Is there a question about the material?"

Alhena answers from your actual reviews and customer Q\&A — grounded in real feedback rather than generic claims.

{% hint style="info" %}
Alhena leads with helpful, representative feedback and only surfaces negative reviews when a shopper specifically asks about concerns or downsides.
{% endhint %}

## Okendo and your store platform together

Okendo works on top of the store platform you've connected to Alhena. Reviews are matched to your products automatically during the product crawl, so there's nothing to map by hand — Alhena lines up your Okendo reviews with the right products in your store for you.

***

## Disconnecting

To disconnect Okendo:

1. Go to **Settings > Integrations > Okendo**
2. Click **Disconnect**
3. Confirm the disconnection

This stops reviews and Q\&A from refreshing on future product crawls. Reviews already stored stay in place until your next training run. Your reviews in Okendo are unaffected.

## Troubleshooting

### "Subscriber ID looks malformed"

* Make sure you pasted the full User ID with no leading or trailing spaces
* The User ID is a single string of letters, numbers, and dashes (for example `ac20e360-32b7-413e-913c-78f3315140ab`) — no extra spaces or quotes

### "Okendo didn't recognize this subscriber ID"

* Double-check you copied the **User ID** from **Settings → Integrations → Okendo**, not a different value
* If you copied it from your storefront, make sure you grabbed the value next to `oke:subscriber_id`

### "Couldn't reach Okendo" or "validation timed out"

* A temporary network hiccup between Alhena and Okendo — wait a moment and click **Connect** again

### Connected successfully, but the AI isn't citing any reviews

* Reviews populate during the product crawl. Run (or wait for) a **training run**, then ask again
* Confirm the products you're asking about actually have reviews in Okendo
* If you just connected, give the next crawl time to finish before expecting reviews in answers

### Reviews stopped updating

* Check that Okendo still shows as **Connected** under **Settings > Integrations**
