# Product Overview

Open any product from [Content AI visibility](/docs/features/ai-visibility/content-ai-visibility.md) and it lands on the **Overview** tab. This is the read-out for a single product: how often AI engines recommend it, whether that's improving, and who it's competing with in those answers.

{% hint style="info" %}
Everything here is measured across the tracked prompts that relate to this product. If none of your prompts relate closely enough to it, the tab shows **"No related prompts detected yet"** with a link to your [Prompts](/docs/features/ai-visibility/prompts.md) tab — add prompts that match the product and the data fills in from the next run.

## Filters

Three controls at the top of the tab apply to the trend chart, the rank panel, the competing brands table and the prompt table:

* **Visibility / Avg position** — which metric everything is measured in.
* **AI engine** — all engines, or just one.
* **Date range** — the last 7, 30 or 90 days, or a custom range.

The fan-out and shopping query lists at the bottom are not filtered by date or engine — they show every query recorded for this product's prompts.

## Visibility Score

The big number is the share of AI answers, across this product's prompts, that include the product — with the change since the start of the period beside it. The chart plots it day by day, with a line for your product and a line for each of its top **co-cited rivals**: the products AI engines most often recommend in the same answers.

Switch the toggle to **Avg position** and both the number and the chart become position instead: when this product does appear in an answer, how far up the list of recommended products it lands. **Lower is better** — position 1 means it's named first.

## Visibility rank

Beside the chart, the same set of products as a leaderboard. Your product is highlighted with a **You** badge, so you can see at a glance where it sits — "#3 of 12 co-cited products" — and exactly which rival products are above it.

The list follows the metric toggle: on **Visibility** it ranks by how often each product appears, on **Avg position** by how early each one gets named.

## Competing brands

The brands AI recommends alongside this product, with:

| Column | Meaning |
| ---------------- | --------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| **Competitor** | The brand, and how many of its products got recommended. |
| **Visibility** | How often that brand's products show up in the answers to this product's prompts. |
| **Avg position** | Where its products land on average when they do appear. |

Expand a row to see the individual products AI recommended from that brand, each with how many times it appeared and its average position (plus price and rating where Alhena has them) — a direct read on what you're being compared against. Click a brand name to open its full [competitor detail](/docs/features/ai-visibility/competitors.md) page.

## Prompt opportunities

Every tracked prompt this product could appear in, and how it's doing in each one:

| Column | Meaning |
| ---------------- | ----------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| **Prompt** | The question sent to the AI engines. |
| **Volume** | Estimated demand for that prompt, 1–5 relative to your other prompts. |
| **Visibility** | How often this product shows up in the answers to this prompt. |
| **Win rate** | How often this product is the *first* product the answer recommends. |
| **Avg position** | Its average place in the list of recommended products. Lower is better. |

Sort your attention by volume: a high-volume prompt where visibility is low is the most valuable thing to fix. Click any row to open the [prompt detail](/docs/features/ai-visibility/prompts.md) page and read the actual answers.

## Fan-out and shopping queries

Two lists at the bottom of the tab:

* **Fan-out queries** — the web searches AI engines run behind the scenes to gather sources when answering this product's prompts. These are the searches that decide which pages get cited, so they're where your own pages (and the review sites that mention you) need to rank.
* **Shopping queries** — the Google Shopping searches ChatGPT runs while answering this product's prompts, which is how products get pulled into carousels.

Click any query to open it in the [Fan-out Queries](/docs/features/ai-visibility/fan-out-queries.md) tab, where you can see which pages rank for it.

## What to do with this

The Overview tab tells you *where* you stand; the [Recommendations](/docs/features/ai-visibility/content-ai-visibility/content-recommendations.md) tab is where you act on it.

* **Visibility is low across the board** → your product isn't being pulled into answers at all. Start with the Recommendations tab's off-site opportunities: get mentioned on the pages engines already cite.
* **Visibility is decent but average position is poor** → engines know about the product but rank it below rivals. Look at what the expanded competing-brand rows say about price and ratings, and at the unanswered questions on the Recommendations tab.
* **One high-volume prompt is far weaker than the rest** → open that prompt and read the answers to see which competitor is winning it and why.
